VS/AM 58 Direct-Operated Relief Valve
The VS/AM 58 is a direct-operated relief valve that functions as a safety device which vents gas when the system pressure exceeds the set value due to temporary events such as thermal expansion or pressure shocks. Designed for high-pressure transmission systems and medium-pressure gas distribution networks, it handles natural gas and treated, non-corrosive gaseous fluids. With rangeability up to 1:100 and a compact 1″ size, it is Hydrogen Ready for NG-H2 blending (20% hydrogen, higher blending on request).

The VS/AM 58 (also written VS-AM 58) vents gas when system pressure exceeds the set value because of temporary events: thermal expansion of trapped gas during no-flow conditions, downstream pressure shocks from sudden flow changes, or a regulator lock-up failure. It suits high pressure transmission and medium pressure distribution, with previously filtered non-corrosive gases.
What are the main VS/AM 58 specifications?
Design pressure is up to 100 bar in a 1 inch (DN 25) size, with threaded EN 10226-1, NPT or ANSI 300 and 600 connections. Accuracy is up to 2 percent and rangeability up to 1:100. The body is aluminium, a BLD 211 limit switch is optional, and the flyer states 20 percent hydrogen blending with higher blends on request.
