HS stands for High Speed. The Flowatch HS uses a radioactive source, a Cs-137 gamma source of 5 mCi, in a patented fast gamma densitometer to measure mixture density. This gives typical water cut uncertainty of 2 percent at 0 to 60 percent GVF and covers up to 98 percent GVF. Dose level is stated as 1.05 µSv/h at 1 m.
When should I choose the Flowatch HS instead of the Flowatch 3i?
Choose the Flowatch HS when wells run above 92 percent GVF, up to 98 percent, or when you need its tighter uncertainty, and when your site can manage the documentation and handling a radioactive source requires. If a source-free meter is needed, the Flowatch 3i or Totem are the alternatives. Flowatch HS sizes start from 1.3 inch.
